Ethan-isms (14 weeks old)

As parents, we love watching our son mature and try new things! Here are some of his fun new and old things we have gotten accustomed to adoring!

Sleep! He loves to rest his head and feet on mommy when he sleeps.

Talking! Making all kinds of new noises, including some "words" that really sound real, like "hi," "hey," and "hair." However his running favorite is still "ah-goo," which never ceases to be adorable. Mommy even had a dream in which she asked someone if the environment was "goo-compatible!"

Toys! They are fun and good to snuggle with!

Hugs! Ethan consistently opens up his mouth wide for a huge smile when he gets them!

Hair! Mommy has a lot of hair and Ethan thinks its the best! He will laugh and anticipate more when hair is placed in his face!

Peek-a-boo! He gets it now! It is so fun to watch him light up as we uncover our face!

Social! He not only is a little chatterbox (we love this) but he also loves to try to make us smile: telling us jokes and grinning wildly!

Boy, I can't imagine loving a kid more! We are so blessed!

Our delight! (13 weeks old)

Friday is Ethan's three month birthday! It is hard to imagine life without him! He is such a delight to us: with huge grins, bubbly laughs, he even jokes with us!

Our favorite Ethan-ism is a joke he tells us: with his pacifier in he is able to articulate some sounds that he ordinarily wouldn't. So, he took it upon himself to begin this joke. First he will look us in the eye, then smile big... And then, he says, with a pacifier in his mouth: ah-galugah-galugah-galugah-galugah... Then he waits and we of course laugh and then he laughs (back and forth) and then we repeat and he repeats! This can go on for several minutes and results in all of us laughing uncontrollably!

What a fun little boy he is! There is so much we still have to learn about him too! I can't wait to spend each day with him!

Thank you for being our sweet little boy, Ethan! Happy 3 month (you aren't a newborn anymore) Birthday! We love you!

And thank YOU, faithful blog readers for your prayers for our family!

Ethan's Top Ten! (1-2.5 weeks old!)

We are loving being parents! And our little Ethan is loving a few things too! It has been fun to watch this little boy and all of his unique (or maybe just "baby") mannerisms! Our little guy loves the outside and going on walks in the Moby wrap is one of his favorite things to do (aka he falls asleep right away!). Anyway, here are OUR favorite Ethan-isms that we'd like to share with you!

1. Dinosaur noises: Ethan likes to squeak and make fun noises that remind us of baby dinosaurs on Jurassic Park!
2. Conductor pose: The startle reflex on our boy looks like he might be a conductor one day! It is brilliantly funny!

3. Sleep sucking: What else is there to dream about when you are a baby...except milk?!!
4. Piggy grunts for food: Yep, that is how we know its time to eat!
5. Sleep cuddles: irresistible! :) and frequent! :)

6. Erratic breathing: Have you ever heard a newborn breathe?! It is not normal!
7. Smiles: His are the best! They have been popping up since the day he was born!
8. Laughs (he he): They are also the best.. and funny! They seem slightly sarcastic!
9. Wide eyes:He is so interested in the world!

10. Pursed lips

We did it!!!! (almost 40 weeks!)

We welcomed our sweet Ethan into the world on December 30th at 4:31am (3 days short of 40 weeks pregnant)!  He was born completely naturally (praise the Lord!) at 8 lbs and 3 oz and 20.75 inches long.  Here is our sweet baby!

Unfortunately both Grandpas were sick so no holding the baby yet.

Ethan was our most special Christmas present ever!  It is hard to believe that in those pictures from the last blog post that this little boy was what was taking up all that space in my tummy!  We are So glad he is out!  He is the most delightful baby and has such wonderful health!   We are thanking Jesus for him every day!
